Baltimore, MD based trio Golden Gurls formed at the tail-end of 2009 and, like another shoegazey band one could mention, are not the speediest band at completing albums. Thankfully, they’ve done it now. Siting Dinosaur Jr, Pavement, Seam, The Swirlies, and Versus as influences, ‘Typo Magic’ certainly utilizes washes of oblique noise, hazes through songs about the hum-drum banalities of existence and reconstitutes them with epic distortion bling. Early 90′s tone and catchy as hell.
